Kamenari is a settlement in Montenegro, located in the Verige Strait, the narrowest point of the Bay of Kotor.
This place has been known to travelers for many centuries. Once there was a border crossing point between the Republic of Venice and the Ottoman Empire. The city prospered, it had its own fleet, several hotels and even a theater.
The small town was even more famous for its ancient quarries, in which a rare red-pink stone was mined from time immemorial. Temples of Kotor, many structures in Venice and even some UN buildings in New York were built from it.
Its inhabitants invariably brought glory to their city. Many famous diplomats, captains, and doctors were born here. One of the most famous citizens is Professor Simo Milosevic, who founded the largest Mediterranean center for spa medicine, built on healing mud near Herceg Novi.
